This is the best shower rod I’ve ever had and I’ve tried many different brands for our apartments. It looks great and is very sturdy. The negative review comes from a person that is not mechanically inclined. This rod is not for a novice that only has a screwdriver for installation. You need a grinder with a cut off wheel, or a chop saw, or at a minimum a hacksaw.***VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR INSTALLING*** – Install one bracket on the wall and insert the rod anchor onto the bracket. Insert the bar into the rod anchor and shove it in as far as it will go (later you will pull it out a little to even out the bar). Don’t anchor, but just place the other bracket and rod anchor on the opposite wall and swing the bar around to get a proper measurement of where to cut the bar. Mark the bar so that it will slide into the rod anchor, then add 1/4″ for tight fit (bar will bend a little). Then remove the bar (leave rod on rod anchor) from wall bracket and cut. It is also recommended to cut at a 45 degree angle (so cut will be parallel with wall when installed. Then install the other bracket onto the wall and insert the rod anchor onto the bracket and squeeze the rod into place. Move the bar out of the bracket that it was shoved in all the way about an inch so that the set screws will set on both sides. It is not an simple install, but definitely worth the effort.
