About the factory Oryol watch Factory (Орловский часовой завод «Янтарь») was founded in 1950 in the city of Oryol, USSR. Most popular models of alarms, arge-sized floor, wall and table mechanical and quartz clocks produced were «Янтарь». After the collapse of the USSR, OCHZ is going through hard times, and in the 2000s, the plant begins to experience serious financial problems. In September 2004, the Yantar plant was declared bankrupt. In the same year, Almaz-Holding LLC was bought out, which distributed the property among other firms. Watchmaking was completely discontinued.
